I play the piano, viola, cello, and bass. I would like to take up a band instrument. I have to learn it over the summer, but it has to stand out, be uncommon and unique. any suggestions??

i just started to play the alto saxophone it is a standout instrument it is relatively new and very unique because it is made from a connection between clarinet and oboe it is very new and in my band we're the coolest instruments. all you see today is clarniets and flutes and trumphets but saxophones they are one of a kind !! i hope you choose the alto saxophone

The instruments that are chosen by the fewest number of kids these days are oboe, bassoon, french horn and tuba. Because of this fact, players of these instruments often earn HUGE scholarships to college.

While learning to "play" any instrument well over the summer is not really possible, you can get a good start with a good private teacher.

Even though I'm not a band person myself, of all the band instruments I just love the sound of the french horn the best. But my suggestion to you is look up and do a little research on each instrument and make a personal decision about which you like the most.

I had the oboe chosen for me at a relatively young age. Since my mother knew that I was musically talented she thought that I would be able to get a scholarship to a university. I auditioned and did receive scholarships to all three universities that I applied to.

I must recomend the Bass clarinet. It has a very nice sound and not many people play it. However it can be very expensive. to buy your own bass clarinet can cost as much as $2000 plus repairs and reeds and cork grease ect. that is why i borrow a bass clarinet from my school

Does pot enhance musical talent? Or do burnouts think hammering on power chords is tasteful and challenging?
