#beginquote# Work harder on the Oboe, but keep your hand in onthe others. If you are serious about playing in college, good oboe players are hard to come by, especially if you are going to a small college. The performance opportuities for oboe are limites, however, unless you playing in a wind band or orchestra. Keeping up the sax or clarinet would give you the chance to play in a jazz or pop/rock group. Plus if the college you atend requires being in the marching band, you would need to play clarinet or sax. Actually the best instrumet to double in marching band that would keep from messing up your oboe chops is tuba. All saxes have the same fingerings. #endquote#
