Johnny Cash is a legend, as his music crossed many different genres, but his quivering bass vioce was merely avarage. His persona, lyrics and music are what set him above many of his peers. He was down to earth and appealed to so many. His music is true Americana. His most interesting endeaver was his last. His version of "Hurt" broke away from the self centered self pity drug addict reference of the origional version to a more universal translatoin of admitting human failings and weaknesses. I think he knew he was not long for the world and he wanted to bear his soul, and show others that it's ok to make mistakes. I remember seeing something on his life which mentioned the strained relations he had with his own daughter Roseanne. So many musicians tell us all the things wrong with the world, but that's as far as it goes, Johnny lived his message.
I am a fragment of my imagination
