Hi,

I am not too sure why your teacher would get you to research this subject but I don't think Le Petomane was much of a composer. Check out this site http://www.straightdope.com/classics/al-394

As usual the links I type in NEVER work so why should this one. Just try http://www.straightdope.com
click on the straight dope archive and search under Le Petomane.
This one better work.

My paper is due tommorow and I have no information. Please, please, please tell me who Le Petomane is/was, what his major compositions are, and what instruments he composed for.

Hi,

If your paper is due tomorrow, maybe the best thing is to go to the library and see if the research librarian can help you find the information you need.

My brother is a research librarian and helps students find all kinds of information.

Are your classmates having the same problem on getting this information?

Good luck, let us know how things go for you.

Well, I'm not sure if my classmates are having a hard time or not, since we were all assigned different composers. Our teacher has a HUGE encyclopedia of French Musicians and she asked each of us to randomly select a page number. Whatever composer was on that page number is who we have to do our paper on. So I don't think anyone else got Le Petomane.
