I’m back with the perennial question around insurance. I am looking at a long hood - it’s pretty beat up but I would like to drive it as a daily. I’m considering selling my main car. Is there any possibility of getting any of the big insurance companies (State Form, Allstate, etc.) to sign off on a stated value insurance with a car that is valued multiples over it’s MSRP from the 1970s?
I’m aware of the nuance (and drawbacks) of stated versus agreed value, my ‘72 is on an agree value policy with Hagerty but I’m just trying to sound out if anybody has managed to get their ‘other’ classic car approved by the usual insurance suspects that do not specialize in classic cars.

My wife and I were 33 and 34 years old, respectively, when we bought the policy. I had 10 years of driving experience, and my wife had 6. We live in a quiet and safe neighborhood, which does not add to the insurance cost. We read the usaa insurance reviews and decided it was better to get insurance for both cars, plus they are not expensive. By the way, marital status also affects insurance claims and payouts. I had glass when a rock flew in there. After paying a little, the cost of insurance did not increase, and nothing changed after that.

I've even heard stories about people who've got a 10 million dollar life insurance policy or people who didn't have any kind of insurance at all. Even when I'm travelling to another country, I'm making sure to be assured in case anything bad happens. It's not worth taking a risk, because the hospitalization costs are going to be huge if you don't have one. I've had friends who had to pay thousands because they broke their hands during a trip and didn't have insurance
