That is a very personal question. It all depends on what sounds you like and what types of music you like. I like Rock and Jazz mostly, if you shared those musical intrests some good instruments to choose from might be: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Saxaphone... ect the list goes on. Remember...who said you had to learn just one

What instrument do you like to listen to? Do you want to play alone or with others? I play Recorder, Flute, Mandolin and Mandola. The best times in my life are playing with friends at potlucks. I play folk, oldtimey, blues and classical.

I've played the alto sax for one year and recently switched to bari and those three aren't the only one. Originally there were 14 different saxophones. The ones used the most are BbSoprano, EbAlto, C Tenor, Bb Tenor, and Eb Baritone saxophones. There are others that are lesser known such as the Eb Sopranino, Bb Bass, and Eb Contrabass saxophones. Sorry went off on a tangent, but you should definiely choose what you like best.
