I think you need to ask yourself some questions first. What kind of music do you enjoy? Is this something you want to do by yourself or do you want to be in a band/orchestra ? Does your school offer lessons or do they have a music program ? When you listen to music are you usually intent on the melody or do you like figuring out the bass line. The answers to these questions will help you decide.
