Am I abnormal because I do not know how to play by ear? Can I learn this skill?

no you are not abnormal you just have to become really familiar with the notes or chords or whatever and keep practicing its not that big of a deal

If you want to learn to play by ear(and I would say the best ways)to do it is to play with a group of musicians. Perhaps someone in the group will be willing to teach you. Or find a lessons teacher that would be willing to teach you as well. Another way is to download ear training software.

Just listen to the song,note , you want to play, hum it to yourself a couple of times and play around with your instrument until you get the right sound. Keep practicing and you'll be able to do it by ear in no time!
