I'm not sure where to put in the bar lines when the time signature is either 12/16, 4/8, 6/16, 9/4 or 9/16.
And im also unsure what the time signature is when the bottom number is an 8 and theres a lot of notes in the bar.
please can anyone help because ive found no help over the internet

Click: learn to read music Click: time signatures at the bottom. That should help.
As a side note why is your teacher being a jack-ass and coming up with these bizarre time signatures that are totally out of touch with reality. Just sayin'.

The bottom number is what kind of note gets the count. 4/4 means 4 quarter notes per measure. 12/16 means 12 16th notes per measure.(ridiculous) 4/8 means 4 eighth notes per measure. Count the number of requires counts (top number) and put your first bar line. continue doing this.
