Whats more important technique as a value or technical theoretical knowledge? Although, obviously it would be ideal to have more than a good balance of both.

You can't play technical knowledge, you can use it to improve your technique. So, from a listening standpoint, technique is more important.

It all depends on what you want to do. If you just want to play, for some, technique is all that they need to play brilliantly. If you want to teach, theoretical knowledge is more important.

Knowing how to do something is not the same as doing something. Technique is the building block for theory. Just my opinion.

I personally think rightly or wrongly, that if you can represent your emotion through what you are playing and it sounds good to other people, you can play! But at the same time, is that whats called getting away with it? i.e. not understanding, what you are actually playing.
With regards to musical theory i need to understand more!
