When an accidental appears, let's say for axample an f#, and the music is in the key of c, does the f# reset back to f natural in the next measure? Or does it take a natural symbol to reset to f natural?

In the same measure it stays as the accidental. The measure bar gets rid of any accidentals of the prior measures.
