Ive played in many bands through the years now mainly in my church, however its always bothered me when they hand out music and I cant really follow it ,I listen to the CD or the song they are playing and play by feel ..I can read if its a snare part or something easy but not for a complete set. Do you think that I would benefit from learning to sit read? Thanks Brian

I listen to a song at rehearsal, and then look at the chords on top, and then finger pick what sounds good. My 13 year old son is taking drum lessons for just over a year, and worked all summer to buy a set. He got the high hat stand and cymbals earlier, and we kicked in and got him a set for Christmas. The lessons definitely do make a difference.
