| posted: 8/13/2006 at 8:10:15 PM ET Hi, I know musicians use a double bar to indicate sixteenths, or four notes per beat, so would a triple bar indicate thirty-seconds and are they eight notes per beat,how would you count them?

Registered: 5/26/2004 | posted: 8/14/2006 at 12:32:40 AM ET 32nds are rarely used. If they are it is usually in very slow music, as ornamentation (grace notes), or in 8th time signatures (3/8, 6/8, 12/8 )where they are 4 notes per beat. They are 8 notes per beat in a 4 time sig.(2/4, 3/4, 4/4).
