Ok, i'm playing tenor Saxophone in marching band, but we need to get up to the high "G" that's like, four lines above the staff! I have the finger charts and everything and can get up to the "F sharp" that's right below it. What do i need to do to reach "G"? Does it have to do with breathing? The mouth? Please help! Thanks.

Oboes Rule! (but flute is ok too)

I can't imagine what band arranger would place the tenor sax there. Check to see if it is a misprint. It takes a very strong embouchure and the correct fingering. I think it is a misprint. What has happen is that someone wrote it one key and transposed it to another key and when they do this you must check to make sure the parts all go the correct ranges. Tenor playing G above the staff is the same as trombones playing A above the bass clef. It is almost unheard of. Especially in marching band

Thanks. yeah, it probably is a problem with transposing. The other tenor sax can't get that high either, and he's been playing longer than I have. I'll see if we can take that part down an octive. thanks again!
