A fast alternation of notes, often using only two notes.

The trill is a rapid alternation of notes, usually two. Normally the indicated note is the lower note, and the upper note is the one above that in the scale you are playing in. For example, playing in C, a D note is to be trilled. The trill would go DEDEDE.
