Is Wiemar even a real brand because there is no company website? Can anyone post some information who has experience on their instrument and owns a Wiemar about the quality of Wiemar branded instruments?
hi, I just buy myself a Weimar flute, I used to be very good in high school, but with this thing, I can't play properly...
I'm not a expert, but my advice is DON'T BUY IT!!!

The eBay seller usually pitches the "Weimar" trumpet as a "Bankruptcy Sale" and says the "Weimar" sells for $925 average. The first clue should be that every month, every year, they have a brand new trumpet to sell because of bankruptcy.
The second clue is the company doesn't have any website presence or info available.

My dad got me a weimar clarinet for my birthday last year and this is my expereince: It is a little difficult to hit the high notes but it is possible. It does lean towards perpetual flatness but a better ambusher fixes this. It is also rather heavy and I strained a muscle in my thumb (but my thumb was previously week from a dog-bite) I'm pretty sure a neck-strap would take care of this.

I admit I'm an amiture with no formal lessons but it plays for me and that's all I need to know for now.

I posted the other day about the clarinet my dad got me a year ago but I forgot a few facts that now seem relevent. It did come from ebay but it was less than a hundred dollers and did NOT claim to be new. When I got it the keys were tarnished in several spots and the corks were so dry they were white.

Because of this I withdraw my privious coment with the supposition that my clarinet WAS made by Weimar.

I also ask if anything is known about the ACTUAL Weimar company. ie when did they go out of buissness and were their instruments any good?

I just received a Weimar clarinet from this so called bankruptcy seller on e-Bay. Since he had high positive feedback I thought he was legit. The listing said it was one of the most popular clarinets sold today and had a picture of the Laval clarinet. The bell of the clarinet in the listing even had a Laval logo on it. After reading these comments my husband e-mailed me I feel as though I had SUCKER on my forehead. I'm going to see if I can get a refund.

woodwind brasswind has a Eber for 699 (selmer)
http://www.wwbw.com/Selmer-1405-Eb-Clarinet-i36925.music

interstate music is the same price for the same brand.

http://www.1800usaband.com/htmls/catview.asp?CategoryID=9

has the selmer and a leblanc for 699.

For this price you're not getting a pro instrument, but selmer and leblanc are good name brands.

God knows why you WANT an Eber. Hard to play in tune and to play in general.
