That question is pretty hard to follow and could be interpreted in many different ways. If you can rewrite it in a better way so that we are more clear about what you are asking maybe we can help.

staccato or break from your slur that you had been recently using possibly. look at the music

You usually tounge on an accent too (that looks kinda like a > )

Oboes Rule! (but flute is ok too)

hi,
I am a clarinet player and to answer your questions, most woodwind music sheets have and icon on top of the desired notes to be toungued similar to a >. It is actually extended until the note you want it to end. Also when that sign makes longer it means that the sound, and strength of the emitted sound increments, or in a diferent case it lowers.

You tongue all notes not notated with a slur marking. The 1st note of slur is tongued. The rest of the notes are not under the slur marking.
