Is this a serious/philsophical question? Kinda like the one Beethoven posed to Schindler in "Immortal Beloved"?

I've been giving your question some thought to "what it music", music is the laughter of children playing and sometimes singing freely and without a care in the world. I can't imagine what life would be without a melody or two. I know that there are others on this forum who will be able to answer you question more fully than I.

If you can, attend a musical event and let the music speak to you and I think you will have your answer.

For me, music is life itself. It is thoughts and feelings set to a molody. Music heralds Gods greatest gift, His Son our Saviour, as The Angels sang "Gloria in Excelces Deo", Glory to God in the Highest! Music is a gift from God. Imagine how mundane life would be without it. If you posess the gift of music share it, and receive it openly from those who give it. Imagine the beautiful music awaiting us all in Heaven!

I am a fragment of my imagination

During this season of preparation, think of the blessings we have and their source, God above. This is one of my most cherished times of the year, because the music of the season is so much more meaningful. A Blessed and joyous Christmas greeting to all.

Don,

I'm really happy to have read your post, you have such a gift with words and you know that I agree with you.

Just can't imagine what life would be without music.

Let's enjoy the season and the best to one and all and the New Year.

Nice replies suzy and idiot.

You gies obviously get a great sense of happiness from music. I do too. But, sometimes even really happy music makes me cry.

Music, for me, helps me to understand and appreciate thoughts and ideas that otherwise are hard to put into words. I think that is why people always want to share their favorite music with others...because they hope it will be a bonding experience.
