I'm learning to play the electric guitar at home. How do I count eighth notes with my foot? I can't move my foot fast enough.

Or, if the piece is in 6/8 or 9/8 or 12/8 you count them as 1-2-3, 1-2-3, etc.

6/8 contains two beats per measure
9/8 contains three per measure
12/8 contains 4 beats per measure

..with each beat divided into 3 eighth notes..not 2.

These types of time signatures are referred to as "compound" meters.
