hi i am 11 and need help on my homework plz tell me wot beat is in words and also pulse plz reply ill gt an 1 hour detention if i dont gt it

Beat is the number of beats per bar. For example, there can be four,(quadruple) or two,(duple) or three (triple) beats in each bar. This answer should be OK, ... the pulse thing is just the fact that a beat in music forms a regular pulse.
Good luck, and tell your teacher you don't deserve detention after an answer like this

if you're british, 2 beats are called a minim, 1 beat is called a crotchet, 3 beats = a dotted minim and 4 beats = a semibreve.
another word for a beat is how long something goes on for, example if u hear part of a piece of music and it goes on for 3 counts, it's called 3 beats.
