I am a new to the Violin, and have purchased a Korg Chromatic Tuner CA-30. I am tuning at 440 hz., which is the default setting. I believe that I would be more accurate at tuning if I changed the hz. specifically for the violin. Does anyone have any suggestions?

????

Why would you buy a tuner, and then tune it to your instrument, instead of tuning your instrument to it?

You should not try to change the tuning of your tuner to line up with how your instrument sounds. You should change the tuning of your instrument to line up with how the tuner sounds.

When you hear an orchestra tuning, they tune to the A above middle C, which is at 440 hz. Some orchestras will tune just a shade higher (like 442 or 444 hz) in order to have a brighter sound, but standard tuning is A-440.
