Good news everyone! The dogs were all barking outside, so I went to check, and they were around these lockers outside that we keep tools in. Once I warded them off, the kitten was underneath with a ton of little flies surrounding her, so I took her in. It took just a couple minutes, but I managed to pull out the wolf fly in her neck with forceps. She has a medium-sized hole in her neck, and still has problems breathing, but at least now she'll be able to heal. I gave her a bath, and when I put her to bed, she started trying desperately to get out of the carrier. I took her out, and the other wolf fly that was in her cheek, swelling and infecting the area of the eyeball, was IN HER EYE!! I was sort of glad though, because the tissue around the eyeball was too delicate to put pressure on it, so I would have had to wait for the larvae to come out on its own. I got the forceps and pulled that one out, and put triple antibiotic on all her wounds. She still has one wolf fly in her neck , but I put her to bed, and she's sleeping right now. At least I got two out!

Maybe a career as a vet might be on the cards, WF? Doing good deeds like you just did sounds much nicer than teaching rowdy kids as a music teacher, doesn't it
That kitten is lucky it had you there to help it, I think.

Take me to your Lieder...

What great news WF - Pete is right on the mark, you must have natural gift in your ability to help animals.

Good news is rare these days and I'm happy your kitten is on its way to good health.

Don't be so sure on that, suzyq My dad called me on the cell while my mom and I were at TJMaxx after a flute lesson, and he told me that he found my kitten dead on the car port I guess I should have put her back inside after a little time with her mother, but, ...too late now. I'm okay though, because I knew she had about a 32% chance of living, and a 68% chance of dying. I'm thinking of buying a bird, one that tends to eat parasites in specific, if there is one like that. That way, the little jokers won't have a chance.>:>

I don't know what to write, WF, so I'll just keep quiet, but if you want a big tough aussie shoulder to cry on, email me.

I'm very sorry WF, you did your best, and you have two shoulders to cry on. Guess like Pete, I'll "keep quiet".

I'm sorry to hear about your kitten. I found a kitten about 2 days ago and see has fly larva in her neck and I'm hoping that she lives!
