What do tabs refer to when playing the guitar, just curious. Thanks

Hi up there, suxyq..
The six lines are the six strings, top the highest in pitch and bottom the lowest.
the numbers are the frets, with 0 being an open string.
Other signs denote (whats de note..?)bends, hammers, slides, etc. It was originaly Lute notation, and is usefull for very high notes, rather than using heaps of ledger lines.
