Well, that depends on a number of things.
Is this a school choice for next year?
Have you given each instrument a try? Holding them in your hands and trying them out and listening to how they sound will help you decide.
What are your friends going to play? It would be nice to have friends to practice with and help each other out.
Sadly, we can give you all the advice in the world but we can't make up your mind for you. Whatever you really WANT to play is probably the one you should choose.

Guitar is far more wide-ranging in the styles available, but why not do both?

Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull plays both the flute and guitar, they did all right by him! Go for it, and then decide which you like better.

I am intwersted in learning to distinguish the difference between all the different musical key signiatures. Does your site contain any of this info, since I compose music, and don't have a good background in reading music? Thanks, Don

I like the flute, but if I was any good at a guitar, I would learn it too. Go for it!
