Hello all. I am new to writing music, and while I basically understand how to do it, I don't know how drums and other percussion instruments work from written music. Are the cymbal crashes and drumbeats written on a conventional staff, or do they have a different system? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sometimes a specific percussion instrument will be written on a staff with a bass clef also they have a newer specail percussion cleff witch looks like two paralell I's like II if I remember.
