Sure, sure. Its a great gig with good government benefits. And I'll never get fired because I'm Mongolian.

Is it true that "Blue Rondo A La Turk" has hidden scatological themes?

You guys got it wrong, US ARMY BAND!!! Is the best and most rewarding job anyone can have. Just think, you get to wear the uniform and you get to play. Plus I still get to jump out of airplanes and I still get to crawl in the mud at night in the rain and shoot tracers with a machine gun at targets. ITS SO COOL!! www.goarmy.com and ask about the ARMY BAND!!!..... lol HOOAH

"Blue Rondo A La Turk" in 9/8, an experimentation begun with his attempts to put music to the odd rhythms generated by various machines around him on his parents' cattle ranch in a small town in the western United States. "Blue Rondo A La Turk" is a play on Mozart's "Rondo alla Turca", and the 9/8 metre of traditional Turkish music, the country in which the band was touring when the tune was written.

Blue Rondo A La Turk is in the time signature of 9/8, as is outlined by other people who have posted here. The term "Blue" in the title refers to the blues section in the middle. The musicians found it too hard to improvise over 9/8 so for the solo section (ie:where it goes to a swing feel) is a standard 12 bar blues progression in 4/4.

Hi, I looked up yhe website for Chris Brubeck,www.brubeckmusic.com/CDs.html. This is Dave Brubecks son, who performs a lot of his dads music. This site may be of some help

I am intwersted in learning to distinguish the difference between all the different musical key signiatures. Does your site contain any of this info, since I compose music, and don't have a good background in reading music? Thanks, Don
