| posted: 2/24/2005 at 8:35:13 AM ET I can play the recorder but I learned how 2 play it by my self. I want to get lessons to learn how 2 play it properly, but me and my mum can't find anyone 2 teach me. Should I carry on teaching my self or should I just forget about plaing the instrument???

There's no use stopping playing an instrument you love just because noone is there to teach you!! Keep looking and keep posted on how you're getting on.

Registered: 11/18/2004 | posted: 2/24/2005 at 12:51:46 PM ET Sometimes there are bulletin boards in music stores where teachers post flyers, maybe someone in the store might know of someone who can give you instruction on the recorder.
Are you in school, and is there a band - if so, you might check with the director or even some of the players.
I agree with the last post, keep playing - maybe a googel search for a teacher in your area. Keep us up-to-date.

| posted: 2/24/2005 at 12:55:13 PM ET I'm not in a school band because I'm only in 1st year. All the bands in our school, you have to be at least in 3rd year and I wouldn't like to join a band in school because most band members are boys, eeeewwwwwwwww!!!

Maybe you could ask the director of the band if he/she knows someone who can teach you to play the recorder.
By first year, is that the first year of high school? Maybe by the 3rd year you'll want to join the band, it dosen't matter, just as long as you are happy. Let us know how things go. Keep on playing the recorder on your on. I wonder if there is a web site, it's not the best, but at least it's something.
