Actually, I want your advice. I'm kind of lost, I know music theory up
to 2-part counterpoint.
I invent kind of new melodies and harmonize them but I have problems
in composing subordinate tunes that accompany the basic melody;
I mean, when playing back the whole composition I feel problems in
timing of all the tunes when they sound together. here, I'm not
talking about whether chords and harmony are correct
(i.e. dissonance or consonance). I'm looking for rules (if any)
of timing those tunes regarding free composition not that of
species counterpoint where we have whole note against whole note, and
quarter against quarter, and so on, which makes composing subordinate
tunes more easier. Moreover, I cannot attend music courses because
I'm handicapped,
so, if you know books , ebooks or sites that deal with this idea
please name it and I'll be thankful to your help.
And thank you in advance.

kind regards.
