How should triplets versus duplets be played in Scarlatti sonatas? Should the rhythm be broken (polyrhythm) or should the 3rd note of the triplets play with the 2nd of the duplets?

Many scholars have varied opinions about this issue. Som think you are to assimilate the notes to line up the rhythm. It is also an issue with many schubert compositions. I think it is best to make all line up, instead of poly rhythmic.
