does 3/4 time go 1,2,3, 1,2,3 like a waltz (eg blue danube?) is jim croche's "time in a bottle an example of this time?

Yes, 3/4 time goes "1,2,3 1,2,3". That's what the 3 stands for - 3 beats in a measure with a quarter note (indicated by the 4) getting the beat.

Funny that you say "like a waltz"...... alot of people, when trying to explain 3/4 time to someone else will say "imagine what a waltz sounds like, and that's what 3/4 time sounds like"!
