I am a teenager who knows nothing about music. All of my friends are in band or vocal music. I have no ryhthem what so ever. Everyone always tells me that i have no beat. It finally got to me. All i would like to do is play a beat on a table or maybe play the drums someday. What should i do to obtain this goal?

Rhythm is part of life. There is a rhythm in the way we move, talk, and in all things. Put music on and walk to the beat of it or just tap your fingers. Can you speak with the person who leads your band at school. They can give you advice on how to learn music, play the drums or whatever it is you would like to learn. It's a start. Are there music schools where you live? If so speak to someone there, or sometimes music stores are a good source of info. Start with the music/band director at your school first. Good luck.

I agree i should talk to someone such as a band directer, as you suggested, but these days i hardly have the time. What do you think i should do?

If this is something you really want to do, than you will find the time.
First step is speak to the band director and see what he or she suggests. Are there band members that you know, most musicians are friendly and would be glad to help, but in the end, you will have to make the decision and go for it.

Stop making excuses not to do what needs to be done. Talk to a band director. Like they said, if you want to you'll find the time. If you schedule is that full, you may need to seek other options. Inacurracy in keeping a steady beat or rhythm will be a problem.

Hope you have gotten a chance to speak to the band director - remember to go for it - make the time to study music. Keep us up to date on pursuing your dreams.
