How many members are needed to form a "Big Band"?

Genearally:
2 alto sax
2 tenor sax
1 bari sax
4-5 trumpets
4-5 bones
1 drummer
1 bass player
1 guitar
1 piano
1-2 extra percussion as needed (conga, bongos, vibes)

The Airmen Of Note are considered the best of the "Big Bands" This is their instrumentation except for the xtra perc. players. You can have all kinds of jazz combos from 3 to whatever. Your question asked about "big band". This is the instrumentation for them. If ya don't like the answer don't ask the question.

I'll repeat for you all that don't understand. Not you, Stsve, but the other guy. Steve specifically asked about "big Band" which is a Jazz music format. Giving out a nonsense answer is quite frankly stupid. If you can't give a relevant answer to a relevant question, or don't know an answer, then stay out of the way.
