what does D.S mean And Staggered breathing and what is the head voice i m in choir NEED HELP

D.S. usually means D.S. AL CODA. Which means go back tot he D>S> symbol and play until the CODA symbol. Staggering means that when one part of the chorus is singing (alto/soptano) for long periods of time they may not be able to hold their breath that long. Staggering is when people take breaths at different times so that they can breath but the sound in the music continues. Hope this helped!
