For me the best guitarist in the world right now is John Frusciante *bows to John*, but I'd like to get some other people's opinions on the matter

It all a matter of opinion. The best guitarist may be a classical guy who you would hate. Just depends on what you like. This question has no answer

I know that it's a matter of taste, that's why I asked. I want to try out new things musically, I want to expand my musical knowledge. I'm a guitarist myself and I want to explore new territory, so any names of guitarists/bands you think are worth checking out would be appreciated. I am hopelessly in love with Frusciante's work at the moment, but I don't want to just become a carbon copy of him when I play

The best guitarist today in my opinion is Yngwie J Malmsteen. Very intelligent musically, but he still rocks.

Stevie Vai comes to mind, excellent technician. Steve Howe from Yes is very talented, not only on guitar, but on several other stringed instruments. And yes it is true that different people have different preferences. As a guitarist , I enjoy many styles and for each style there are different techniques, so it's hard to compare. Don

I am intwersted in learning to distinguish the difference between all the different musical key signiatures. Does your site contain any of this info, since I compose music, and don't have a good background in reading music? Thanks, Don

Why do you put "Don" under your paragraphs, dude? Are you Don Giovanni? Hmm... is that a moving statue over there in the corner, Mr. Giovanni?

Thank you for the information, maintube. Why don't you get in your little make believe tank and drive it up your tailpipe?
